Eco Friendly Cleaning

Many common household cleaners are filled with unpronounceable ingredients that may irritate allergies, and be harmful to children and pets. Here are some alternative cleaning options to freshen up your home.

Skip the Air Fresheners

Purify the air with houseplants. Pick low maintenance plants such as peace lilies, snake plants and Aloe Vera. These plants not only tolerate neglect, but they double as décor. Be sure to keep plants out of reach from children and pets!

Vinegar, Vinegar, Vinegar

Vinegar is not only a staple pantry item, it doubles as an ecofriendly and budget-friendly cleaning product. This multipurpose product can be used to disinfect countertops, remove stains on glassware, and erase pen marks from walls.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Lemons are not only delicious in lemonade, but they are perfect for cleaning the kitchen and making it smell fresh at the same time.

1. Microwave it!

When your microwave need a good scrubbing, microwave a sliced lemon with half a cup of water for a few minutes. Let it stand for 5 minutes to allow the steam to loosen up all the dried bits in the microwave. Wipe away and your microwave is as good as new.

2. Remove Stains

Remove light stains from wooden chopping boards and butcher block countertops easily with lemon. Liberally salt the surface and then scrub the stain with half a lemon (pulp side down). For a tough stain, let it sit overnight and then rinse with warm water.

3. Salvage Old Plastic Containers

We all know glass containers are better than their plastic counterparts, but plastic is so much lighter for packed lunches and snacks. Rinse plastic containers with lemon juice to help remove stains and smells.
